A theme amusement park dedicated to the protagonist of the novels by British writer JK Rowling Harry Potter will open on June 16 in Tokyo.
Construction on a former amusement park in the Nerima area of northwest Tokyo is near its completion. Its area is 30 hectares. A park called “The Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter” will be the first theme park like this outside the UK and the second of its kind. The original theme amusement park opened in London in 2012 and has been visited by more than 17 million people.
Tickets will cost 6,300 yen ($48) for adults, 5,200 yen ($39.6) for schoolchildren and 3,800 yen ($29) for children over four years old. Tickets need to be booked in advance. One of the main attractions will be platform 9 3/4 of Kings Cross Station with a steam locomotive.
