These days this mysterious drink is becoming more and more common. You can see it on the menu of restaurants, on the Internet, or just hear about it from friends. Making you wonder what it actually is?

Matcha are specially grown green tea leaves that are ground into a powder and then brewed. And here we have a unique bright green tea in a cup. But do not be afraid of this vibrant color, there are no artificial dyes. This is the natural color for tea powder. Matcha green tea is 100% natural.

Also, many may associate this tea with Japan, but here we need to clarify a little. Matcha green tea is actually from China. Its history begins during the reign of the Song Dynasty – it was at that time that a unique technology for creating such tea was invented, which is still used today. After harvesting, the leaves were steamed and dried. They were then ground into powder and made into tea. It quickly became popular. In 1191, the monk Eisai brought the drink to Japan, where it got its name – Matcha which literally means pulverized tea.

Lost in popularity in its native country, Matcha tea is an important part of the Japanese tea ceremony now.

To date, matcha green tea plantations are grown in countries with the most favorable climate – Japan, China, South Korea, and Vietnam. In particular, due to the climatic features of Vietnam with the most favorable conditions for growing tea in the natural environment, tea grows about 1-2 weeks faster than in the prefecture of Shizuoka (Japan). There, the average annual temperature is 15,70°C compared to the provinces of Vietnam (Son La, En Bai, Thainguyen), where it is 18°C-20°C.
